HIKING BUZZARD SWAMP FEBRUARY 2019 | ALLEGHENY NATIONAL FOREST | MARIENVILLE PA

HIking Buzzard Swamp in Allegheny National Forest is a great day hike. Harley and Maximus took this hike in February of 2019. The route they took was only about 4 miles long and very easy to hike.

Taking Pap To Buzzard Swamp

We enjoyed taking pap to Buzzard swamp the day after Dad and Harley hiked it. It got him out of the cabin for a little bit. The only problem that we experienced was Pap’s electric scooter ran out of battery 1/2 way through so we had to manually pull him.

Wild Life @ Buzzard Swamp

There is much wildlife at Buzzard Swamp. There are white tail deer, coyotes, , black bear and all kinds of waterfowl. We did not catch any on camera this trip but we did see a lot of evidence of the critters. There were tracks everywhere.

The Preserve in Buzzard Swamp

Buzzard Swamp is a preserve for the creatures that frequent this place. There is a large section that you are not allowed to set foot on. Do not let this discourage you though, there is plenty of land you can walk on. There are even little camp sites with grills.
